7.20.13 Greetings from Ghana. We are settled into the Erata Hotel and rested after a long travel day. Praise God! We traveled 2 hours north to the village of Amanase-Borgerty. The team was presented to the Chief of the village by Pastors Steve and Godwin. The chief thanked the Mission Church for the fresh water well which has been a blessing to the village. He remembers a year ago when the well was promised, but he said he is grateful that the Mission Church followed through with the promise and the well is being used by the people. The eye clinic provided reading glasses to approximately 125 people.
We are proud of the team, both youth, medical, eye clinic, and support teams from the Mission Church as they worked so very tirelessly with the members of Meaningful Life and the Cedar Mountain Chapel to provide excellent care and fellowship with the people of the village.
In the afternoon there was a ceremony, where Pastor Gregg presented 30 goats to families of the village. It was certainly memorable! There was singing and dancing, in which our young people joined right in; What a sight this was!
After this ceremony, we walked to the well site where there was a ribbon cutting ceremony and fresh water was pumped and we all were sprinkled with the water! Pastor Gregg thanked God for the blessing of this well to the village. Thank you Mission Church for your support of this entire mission.
The team shared their thoughts and impression of their day during a time of fellowship in the evening and have now retired to bed. Everyone is doing very well, praise God! and we are looking forward to celebrating the Lord's Day tomorrow at Cedar Mountain Chapel.
Thank you for your continued prayers as we have a full week of mission still ahead. We are so very blessed by God's grace to us.
We will be posting many photos for you to enjoy.
Love to all, from Gerard, Pastor Ralph, Kathy and the Team. xxx
